P2647 Rocker Arm Actuator System A Stuck On
 

Hello,

I have a 03 Honda Accord and recently the check engine light came on. The error code is P2647. I went ahead and replaced the V-Tech oil pressure switch and the Check Engine Light went off after driving for like couple of miles.
However, It came back on again after like 3 miles. So basically it went off and came back on again. I have already driven the car like for 50 miles and the light is still on. Is this normal? When i went to the store to check the codes again, i was told that the computer will still have your old code and will take couple of days to clear up. How long does it takes for the computer to reset the codes on its own if the problem is fixed? and has anyone experienced an issue where the Light goes off and comes back on within few miles of driving.

hi ihave the same problem on my 2003 accord i changed the oil pressure switch but the check engine turned on again . could you please tell me about your experience, i really do not know what i can do. :(

Hi,
I was not able to fix the Check light issue. It just kept coming on and would turn off randomly.I figured there might be something wrong with my unit. The performance of my car was no way affected, so i didn't bother wasting money. Sorry couldn't be much help here, but if you figure it out do let me know. Goodluck..

Have you taken the VTEC valve off and checked/replaced the gasket? There is a mesh screen thats a part of the gasket that acts as a filter and sometime it gets clogged causing intermittent issues. How many miles are on your car?

sorry if i did not answer but i followed the question/answers in another page "sputtering engine" and I've responded to your question there, anyway.
as i am student i was in spring break traveling to Texas and New Orleans, ;), meanwhile i ordered the whole spool valve from majestic Honda, you told me you saw a lot of oil pressure switch failure and only one solenoid failure, i think mine maybe has the problem with the rare case (solenoid), i replaced the whole unit (spool valve which includes oil pressure switch, solenoid, filter, strainer $80) from majestic Honda, the mechanic replaced it two hours ago but he said he has not enough time to took the car to test drive and also if the light comes on again he cannot do anything more and it is perhaps something in the engine about rocker arm and so on. so i took the car to test drive and it did not show problem anymore but i had this situation before(light turned on after one day), i will keep you posted about this issue in this week.

First thing I would check is the oil level and condition.
If its low or dark, change the oil and filter and clear the code. If it comes back on, could be another issue.

I have the same problem with my 2004 Accord but my engine sputters when I step on the gas. I changed the oil and the pressure switch and the oil what do I do now my light is still on and car is running bad
