i will dont worry:)

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
Yeah, a reverse rotation trans, custom rear end and the H22a mounted longitudinal would be much cooler than some outdated super heavy engine.

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
Damn idk wat to do now cause they both sound like good ideas...although it would be hella sick rollin up to a race and having all the people thinkin its ganna be a piece of crap little honda then when get on the throttle it sounds like a bad ass muscle car.

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
damn that shit is crazy...

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
Meh, not a drag fan at all really, just thought it would be cool to keep true to the original performance engine that came in the car. Still waiting for someone to do it without using a solid rear end though, maybe adapting the S2K rear with some of the preludes front suspension pieces modified and put in the rear to accept CV axles. The 6 speed trans is already in existence, just need someone with the cash that I wish I had to do it with a true IRS.

If this engine you speak of is original to the LeMans, it is a 350 Pontiac, in which case there is no BIG or SMALL block. There are the small journal cars 326/350/400 and the large journal 421/428/455. And two low deck engines, the 265 and 301. If you're going to go through the trouble of installing a Indian in your car, why not use a 455. All Ponchos externally, excluding the aforementioned 265/301, physically the same external size. |

Also of note is the sheer weight of these motors. According to that url, you're looking at at least a quarter-ton of motor going there without even considering the transmission, along with all the related suspension and drivetrain modifications. An LS-based motor would be preferable at this point as it utilizes lighter materials. Do you want this car to handle or do you want it to go straight really fast? I don't see how you could have both with this swap. All pessimism aside, I'm excited to see what can be gleaned from this project as it is truly something unique. Someone's gotta do it right? We're all counting on you :drink: |
Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
There has been someone that already started/did a LS Swap in a Prelude years ago. Not sure if he finished it; I'm thinking he sold it before he finished it. I believe his user name was RocketMan or something to that effect. I might even still have a link to his thread. I'd have to find it though.

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
i would like to have it handle good too but also go really fast...but the wieght is defenitlly ganna be a big problem

Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
I have a feeling this will never happen due to the maker of the thread "considering" different ideas.
But I hope its true and more power to ya man!!! |
Re: SOHC to a 350 small block
