innovate fails again. does anyone have the previous LM2 firmware update?
 

hi guys,

so i tryed to update the firmware on my LM2 yesterday to the latest version that came out last month, ( i do it every time a new one coms out)
and it dosnt work, it fails to verify the updated firmware. and now when i turn it on it freeze at the intro innovate logo)

i looked at the innovate forum and it seems more peppole have this issue,
i tryed this in a windows 7 and in xp too.



does anyone have the previous firmware update? 1.14 or 1.13 ?

There is nothing wrong with rev 1.15, it has been out for over a year. You can not brick an LM-2, simple connect it to a different computer and re-flash the 1.15 firmware if you wish to upgrade. You can always run LM programmer in compatibility mode if you are having issues. If that does not work you can always call Innovate directly.

Right click on the executable, select properties, then click on the compatibility tab. Select a previous version of windows on the drop down then launch.

Found this thread after experiencing the same issues.

In the end I've managed to do the update with a Win7 32 bit based laptop.
I did not use any compatibility setting on the PC.
Firmware 1.17 now installed successfully.

Worth noting it failed on Win7 64 bit based PC's.

Several attempts to contact Innovate were met with no response. Unimpressed.

Might help someone in the future.

Their products are buggy and every time someone asks which brand to buy I say not innovate and get bashed for it. I do admit the lm2 is a bit better than the older stuff. Pretty much with this stuff if your meter ecu etc... or whatever is working fine don't upgrade the firmware.
