Clogged EGR ports
Where are the EGR ports on a '89 Prelude, 2.0 SI? I believe they are clogged and causing the issues I'm having. I think they are directly next to the injectors on the intake, correct? I think there are a total of 4 plugs? I'd attach a picture if I knew how to download it.

Re: Clogged EGR ports
If you have the B20A5, look at the exhaust manifold. On the passenger side of the manifold there is a hard line going into the manifold. Follow this line back until you get to where it enters the intake manifold. You'll find the EGR port there.

Re: Clogged EGR ports
Thanks for the input but I need the locations of the EGR ports on the intake manifold. Your described location was for the EGR valve and the port underneath it. I'm inquiring about the location of the small ports in the IM that get clogged up and need to be cleaned out. I only see (4) total and I'm curious if these are indeed the ports that need to be drllied out.

Re: Clogged EGR ports
The reason I cant find the EGR ports on the manifold is because there aren't any, as I've been led to believe by various mechanics in my area. They tell me that the passages that need cleaning are on the bottom area of the intake manifold. Must be drilled and tapped. Don't know yet if this is accurate or not. Presently removing the IM and will post the results.

Re: Clogged EGR ports
Update: no ports to drill out or clean underneath the intake manifold. Bad info from local mechanics. I do see spots or blobs of aluminum on the topside of the intake manifold in various locations, (5 total) but aren't sure if these are the ones that are to be drill out? Any ideas?

Re: Clogged EGR ports
I would just take your EGR valve off and follow the port from there. Might also be good to clean it on the inside and install a new gasket while your at it :)
