Car misfires at high-RPMs.
My car was recently misfiring all of the time, regardless of how I was driving it.
(2001 Acura Integra LS Coupe/3dr/Hatchback/NOTEC) So, I bought new spark plugs, wires, distributor cap and rotor. My car was driving perfectly fine until about 2 weeks after buying the cap and rotor button and now it misfires until the engine is highly warmed up (about 20 consecutive minutes of driving at 60+MPH, then it will stop misfiring) and at high RPMs but only in 3rd+ gear. For example, I can run it to 7k in first, 7k in 2nd and then about 5.5k in 3rd and the misfiring begins and it is HORRIBLE. I may make a video of it to better explain my situation, but it is multiple random misfires and so hard that it throws my aftermarket radio out of its holding place. :thud: However, before driving on the highway/interstate (at the speed limit, so either 60MPH or 75MPH respectively) for a good 15-20 minutes, then it misfires just riding in 5th gear around 2.8-3.1K RPMs every 30 seconds or so. I was told it could be my coil or coil wires going out. What should I look into? |

Re: Car misfires at high-RPMs.
id try a coil first. if that doesnt fix it. try a dizzy. you can always take the coil you baught out and keep it cause they always go out. and keep it. coils always go out.

Re: Car misfires at high-RPMs.
ha sounds familiar, this happen to me as well after 2 weeks from getting a new cap and rotor. It would misfire high rpms around 5500 and up. I open my cap and my rotor was loose the bolt came loose I tightened it took it for a test and it was all good now. you should check that out.
