Fun & Random cheap things to do with Accord?

I have done a bit of customizing on my 97 Wagon, but was just curious if others had recommendations for little things or projects to do on the car for cheap (like under $25)???

I have upgraded the big 3 wires, CAI, tons of OCD cleaning, checked electrics on most relays/ components, etc... but am bored & looking to other little projects. Thinking about removing center console & custom making something there. Any idea, tricks, tips or things you've done would be much appreciated by this Accord fiend.

Thx:beer:

I've upholstered the center console. Front door panels, have speaker grills in them. Easy to remove, and for $10 you can get fabric and adhesive and recover them to color match.

no useful modification will cost you under $25.

You could make some strut bars and braces. Cheap and useful.

If you're making them.....probably not useful or cheap.

do not ruin a perfectly good honda by ricing it out

By a can of black high temp spray paint and a can of Yellow Krylon from Michael then baked your stock headlights and open them up then do the Blackhousing DIY.

You can find the DIY link in the FAQ section and this won't cost you over $20.00 maybe.

Is ALL your maintenance up to date?

Because if you are bored and sitting on a few issues, you might as well get them taken care of while you have the time. This will help out your car more than any modification.

Please stay out of spray paint and fabric departments. Many nice Accords have been ruined by "bored" people on a budget.

Who says he was spray painting his panels pink and putting floral patterns on his armrests?

You can recondition panels with an spray paint IF you do it correctly (and want a different OE-like color or something). Also if you cloth has gone to crap on the doors and center console you can replace it with an OE-like color/style that you like better.

I personally go for replacing panels with OE stuff more, but it is a viable option that can look pretty close to, if not, factory when do correctly.

I painted my honda pink! lol

And before you get all flustered , the car has extremely high miles and more rust then actual metal left , also basically everything is broken and leaks in some way.

But it was cheap and fun!

If that's how you get your kicks, more power to you.

Just don't go around trying to convince us that it's the coolest new trend haha!

Diggin' the Jurassic Park Explorer. Was there a rhyme or reason for the pattern on the Accord?

i always find it fun to walk around a junkyard for a few hours. look around, you might find something you want that you can get for cheap and just replace it on your car.

Re: Fun & Random cheap things to do with Accord?

Thank you Bwill9886, & everyone else. I have a very slick car, not riced out (unless u consider OEM side markers & JDM Honda of America badges in the proper place "riced-out")- My car was Made in America! My maintenance is up-to-date as can be as I am in advanced auto shop at local college. Why do people get so butthurt when you bring up the word "cheap"...??? I was thinking along the lines of stuff I could check with my $300 scanner/ multimeter, or neat little things like the Blackout Headlights (which I did, thanks!).

And emosun... good for you! It looks good for what it is. :drink:

Thanks again.
