D16 Driver Side Coolant Leak

Ive used search and google...nothing
Water Pump?

Went to get gas late the other night, about a half mile there and back from my house. When I got back to the house i forgot my headlights on and I noticed steam coming from under the hood(and the smell of maple syrup :crook:). The coolant temperature never spike so i pulled it in the garage and jacked it up. And when i popped the hood the first thing i hear from a friend is "Your alternator is leaking?" :thud: Coolant was leaking on top of the oil pan. I let the car cool down over night and filled the radiator (still on jacks). Now a steady stream of coolant is leaking on top the oil pan.

First thought water pump?
Checked oil, its not milky.
I recently changed Thermostat, Thermostat Housing, and Radiator was changed by PO.

ANY HELP?

did you RTV your thermostat housing? there is a good chance its dropping from the t- stat housing down onto your pan. just go over everything and look to see where the leak is coming from its not hard?

edit: not sure if coolant would travel from the passenger side t- stat housing all the way across the pan to your drivers side. did you check the back of the engine where the block meets the head to make sure it is not coming out of there or the intake manifold?

ok well move across the engine checking where its dropping from. your obviously not leaking coolant from the pan so move up. and the burning is most likely the coolant dropping on the exhaust manifold or just getting hot from the engine heat and burning

well like i said its most likely dropping from a higher point. use those two things on your face called eyes to look and see where its coming from. the coolant isn't going to jump up and slap you in the face telling you where its leaking from

Re: D16 Driver Side Coolant Leak

Using a dental mirror i may have found the leak, it appears to be dripping from the weep hole. So water pump it is.

And thanks, I forgot those were up there.
