reverse transmission problems
 

1994 honda accord automatic transmission makes a loud noise when put in reverse only??need help please noise is loud only when put in reverse its loud sounds like a durt bike if u press the gas would in reverse it sounds even more of a durt bike only does it sometimes but its loud n got to fix it quick<

can it b the cable?idk some people say it might b stretch:ugh:some1 help me please....

Hope you slept well. From the description of your sound/issue, I'd check the heat sheilds on the exhaust pipes....does the sound only happen when the car is cold?

check if u need to change the fluid. the heat might have lost its viscosity. also sadly, u might need a tranny rebuild.

you are aware autos do make more noise in reverse because of the gearing right?

Sounds to me like the reverse spur gear is not popping into position and grinding, which coincides with making more noise when he hits the gas. Does the car move in reverse when it's making the noise?

i think i know what your talking about my friend has the same problem in a DA9 like it sounds like some scratching noise or something and like the car wont reverse?? he got quoted and they just said 60.00 at some transmission shop or somethinggg
