Key won't go into ignition
 

I have an 03 Accord coupe that won't take the key. Sometimes when wiggling for 30+ mins it would work but now the key won't go in at all. It's one of those laser cut keys so I can't simply go to a local hardware store to make a new one. I've heard a few things ppl have told me to try such as WD40 the ignition (not sure how safe that is). The key only goes in a few cm and the ign. beep does go off but the key doesn't go in all the way and if I leave it in there it gets extremely warm. I've also been told that it's possible the key is worn down to the point of not being recognized by the car. Other symptoms that have come up that I believe may be related is that now the steering wheel is locked at a 45 degree and the brake pedal is very stiff. I've looked for hours and hours for help but have found nothing that can solve this. So should I be looking at the Key or Ignition? Any troubleshooting ideas? I really don't have the money to take it into Honda and we all know that charge a ridiculous amount. Someone please help.

You can try wiggling the steering wheel left and right as you try and turn the key to the on position... but that really will not help you i you can not get the key all the way into the ignition.

I would have to say that from your description, it sounds like you are going to have to replace the ignition with a new set up. does your key work well in the door and/or trunk or is it stiff?
