obd1 to obd2 auto transmission help

i need some help at this, I have a 95 honda accord ex f22a (i think its that its the vtec) with automatic transmission, the transmission was on its way out and my brother got a good deal on a f22a out of a 96 accord with the auto tranny. I didnt do any research on this because i thought it was the same engine and all figured it would be just changing it, when i took the engine out i was putting my old wiring harness on the new engine when i relized some of the sensors were differnt, thats when i looked up online and found out one is obd1 and one is obd2. I now got the wiring harness that belongs to the obd2 engine, if i used the obd2 engine, transmission, wiring harness and ecu and pretty much used everything from the car im taking the engine from would it work or would i still have wiring issues and need a adapter? i just dont want to buy a conversion harness if its not gonna help me. Everything i look up is going from obd2 to obd1 not the other way around thanks

The VTEC engine is F22B1. The transmissions are all the same from 94-97.
If the engine was fine, then I would keep the original engine in the car. Just swap out the transmission. There are a few differences between the pre and post OBD2 engines. Easiest solution would be to pull the later engine and transmission back out, place newer good trans on original engine and be done with it. If anything, when you go to the parts counter you can just order for your year/model car without having to bother remembering what you changed.
K.I.S.S. is always a great mantra.
