1992 Honda Accord LX (manual transmission)
For several years, my AC has not cooled on my car. It has needed a new AC compressor, but due to high mileage and not driving this car much anymore, I had opted not to change out the compressor.
Yesterday, the belt that runs the AC compressor burned out. I have no problem leaving it burned out, but I am trying to find out if that belt runs anything else within car. Does anyone know? Any advice is appreciated! Thank you!!! |

A/C belt also drives the alternator. So the clutch is bad on the compressor as well? (if the A/C isn't turned on, the pulley should just freewheel). If you really want to bypass the A/C you should be able to measure and find a shorter belt to go just to the alternator.
