57 trim garrett t3/t4 .63 A/R + d series?

anyone running this??

Just wondering if this would be too laggy on a z6???

I am looking for a holset hy35, but this turbo is reasonably cheap, and was wondering if it would compare in spool time??

Power goal: 250whp +...

Whats the setup consist of ? The turbo won't be that laggy, you could go with a smaller turbo, still make 250hp and not be so laggy, but if your getting a good deal, go for it. The turbo is good for around 400hp.

T3/T04E 57 trim. better and easier to integrate into most T3 systems.

i use a T3to4e and it works nicely

I would go smaller on a z6 and even my setup

when it hits boost it just breaks loose 1st 2nd sometimes 3rd with 'good tires'
i guess its worth it on the freeway though?

Im shooting for 350-400 and im using the .57 trim or a gt30r either will work fine for ur setiup and not be too laggy

setup will be:

vitara/fj rods
stock head
dsm 450's
tial 38mm
log mani (has a dsm flange, will get adapter)
dsm bov

anything else that is pertinent?

turbo will cost between $3-$350 CAD... (used piece, but supposedly in good shape..)

If I could pick up a gt28 that would prob be ideal (good usable power range), but they are a bit spendy.. I'm a poor university student :P Everything's been picked to be a good reliable part, but cost efficient too...

Ideally I want a holset hy35.... might just have to sit and wait for a deal to come up...

I'd pick it up, its a good turbo and will meet your goals and allows you to go for more if you want. The main thing with the vitara builds and lag is the low compression so you want to do anything you can to avoid that.

I'd suggest you get the custom rods to add compression; a better r/s ratio is a bonus.

The gt30r would be a much better choice, but at 2x the price it's not the best idea for a d16. I'd rather do a piston/rod GSR with a 57trim than a piston/rod d16 with a gt30r. You will likely have to do headwork to hit 400hp, and most d16's have a hard time hitting 400hp with a 57trim.

what are you building the car for? street car with only 250whp? get a small 16g or .60/.48 t3.

drag car? get a 62+ mm turbo and show people what the f is up.
