What is your tire pressure???
Post your opinions and your preference for tire pressure.
I have a 93 accord LX with 15" wheels. Inside the door it says 29psi but the car came with 14" wheels. The tires look flat when at 29psi. -I always had my 91 civic with 14" wheels at 35psi. Post your opinions and your preference for tire pressure. |
Re: What is your tire pressure???
Should be 32 PSI, it's written in your door

Re: What is your tire pressure???
It is stated on the tire sidewall as well. Most times I go buy the tire manufacturers recommended tire pressure. Between the two they are probably within 3-4 psi of each other. ;)

Re: What is your tire pressure???
If you have a decent name brand tire, the manufacturer may have fitment guide that has a good place to start. Or the place you purchased them from may have a fitment guide with the info for your car. The number on the sidewall is normally MAX pressure. Another old rule is take the vehicle weight and divide by 100. then add 2 psi to the heavier end. And add 2 psi if the suspension is stock.

Re: What is your tire pressure???
50 psi, but i have 205/40 r 17s. I think I had like 34-36psi in my stock tires, which were 185/70 r14s i believe, which were stock size tires on my '90 lx.

Re: What is your tire pressure???
Every tire brand and model has their own max psi like everyone here is saying. The door jam recommended pressure is the minimum recommended by Honda on controlled conditions. Tire pressure changes during hot or cold, elevation, and depends on what you fill the tire with. So if you live in hot places like the desert of Nevada then Id recommend you fill it to minimum pressure and don't go over the max indicated on the tire sidewall. I live in tropical weather, when the tire heats up it rises 2-3 psi. So I put mine at 36 psi. just because it looks flat doesn't mean it is, you might get yourself hurt if the road is slippery or wet when you over inflate it. so please don't.

my tires handle more boost than my engine. wooooo

Re: What is your tire pressure???
The tires on all four of mine list 44 psig max. Typically run them mid to upper 30's. 40 for a long trip with a load. No abnormal pressure related wear. Keep in mind that most of the manufacturer's recommended numbers are a compromise among tire life, handling, comfort, etc. Running them on the high side, while it may be a stiffer ride (which I suspect many of us prefer) improves handling and reduces rolling resistance, which improves gas mileage.

Re: What is your tire pressure???
40 PSI on 15" Wheels
25 in front when at the strip |
Re: What is your tire pressure???
17" rims. Falken 912 w/ 215-50 profile. 41 front/39 rear

Re: What is your tire pressure???
i have always ran between 35-37 and occasionally even 40 psi as well in my 215/45/17. I always get edges of my tires wearing off more than the middle. I know with over-inflation is supposed to cause the middle to wear more, but I have yet to see one of my tires that the middle wear more. This was always the case, even with stock suspension.
I am thinking of just running 32psi now and see if it correct the problem. |

I was advice by a mechanic to remove the themostat of my Honda accord Ex 2005. he said the thermostat is ment for cold regions and not for places like Nigeria with 45 dgress celcius. Should i remove it or leave it? i need advice to proceed

Re: What is your tire pressure???
mine is usually 34psi, but then my slicks are 15-18psi :)

Re: What is your tire pressure???
I keep the tires psig on my 95' Honda Accord at 40 and runs fine. I may have to drop the psig on the rear tires by 2-3 psig. The tire size is 185/75 R14 and Max. 44 psig. So far, the car runs fine and looking to save the most gas.

Plus, you're in the wrong section (90-02 Accords) Plus, you don't say why the thermostat change was recommended in the first place. If the car is running fine, don't mess with it. |
