Check Engine Light + Cold Weather?

Hi all. So last year I moved to Colorado from Florida and he last winter season was not bad on my car at all. All year it was fine. In the last two days we had an epic cold front and 2 days of snow. It was about 32 degrees outside on tuesday night and on my 10 minute drive home the check engine light went on. When I turned the car on I didnt let it warm up because I didnt even think about it. I saw the light go on almost all the way home. I thought it was because I didnt warm it up. I didnt use the car for 2 days. Then When I turned it on I let it warm up for about 7-8 minutes. Light was still on. Then I drove 6 miles to school in 25 degree cold. Still on. I dont feel or see anything wrong with the car. Is is possible that the light is going on ust becuase its cold and the sensors are acting funny and giving false alerts. OR could there be something else? Has this happened to anyone?
