Code P0113 cannot find IAT
My 2005 Accord SE 2.4 engine is generating a P0113 code. According to the scan tool this is a Intake Air Temperature sensor fault. In visiting the Honda dealer they tell me the 2005 accord 2.4 does not have a IAT sensor. It has a Mass airflow, throttle position and temperature reader?
Can anyone help me to determine what sensor the P0113 code is referring to? Thanks |
Re: Code P0113 cannot find IAT
What is the temperature reader they are talking about?
I would check the intake arm, intake box, and intake manifold for the IAT sensor. That is where you will find it if you have one. |

2 Attachment(s)
For 4 cylinder (except SULEV), it would be on the intake tube as shown in the attached picture. For the 4 cylinder SULEV, it is a MAF/IAT sensor, located closer to the air cleaner.

It is probable that your Accord is a SULEV. If it doesn't have the IAT in the intake tube like the other picture, I would say that your's has a MAF/IAT sensor.

The pic is exactly what my engine looks like. That sensor is approx $75.00 and I wanted to be reasonable sure before buying it. It was not called a MAP/IAT sensor by the dealer, some kind of "Reader" is I recall. Thanks |
Re: Code P0113 cannot find IAT
Before you buy a new MAF/IAT, go buy a can of the CRC MAF cleaner.
Unplug the electrical connector, remove the two philips screws, then pull out the MAF/IAT, and spray the cleaner on it. Let it air dry and reinstall. Many times they are just dirty. You can find the cleaner at most auto parts shops like Kragens, etc. |
