what size broadway mirror
what would be the best size mirror for a 5 gen coupe or hatch? ive seen 240, 280, and 300mm mirrors... which will fit and clear the visors, btw i have an ej1 which has different visors; and the extra 'lil' visor.

Re: what size broadway mirror
its all personal preference,, i usally just get 280 or 300.. glass imo is easier to look at and judge distance. since the plastic mirror ones usally have a tint and everything looks a bit further then im use to. but usally i can find a plastic one that is curved so its easier to see in the blind spot.,

Re: what size broadway mirror
Id go with the 240MM.

Re: what size broadway mirror
I have the 270mm in my EH3 which has the same visor setup as your EJ1 (due to the sunroof--the other EG's have different visors) and you can fold the visors all the way down. They hit the edge of the mirror a little bit but they don't interfere with visibility. The 300mm is definitely too wide if you don't want the visors to block the mirror when you fold them down, and the 240mm won't be hit by the visors at all.
If you want I can go snap a pic tomorrow when the sun's out. |
Re: what size broadway mirror
i have the 270 and i like it

Re: what size broadway mirror
I've got a 240mm on my EK, and it clears the visors completely, though it isn't much wider than the stock mirror. 270mm should probably also clear at least somewhat.

Here's a pic for you. As you can see, the left visor just barely touches the edge of the mirror while the right side does hit it but slightly (I couldn't get it to stay in the touching position but imagine it being pushed a little farther, it will run into the mirror). Your mirror tilt will be different than mine depending on seating position/mirror preferences, so this is a rough approximation. But it should give you an idea of how the Si/EX visors work with the 270mm. Hope that helps.

Re: what size broadway mirror
whats better for driving, the convex or flat? and also i guess the blue cuts down on the lights brightness...

Re: what size broadway mirror
I'd go with the 240. That one looks like it is hung a little low. And not in the good way. LOL! Like if it were up were the stock one went, it might not clear the visors. Just my opinion.

Re: what size broadway mirror
I used to have a 270mm one, it was big but not too big. I'd prefer a 240mm one though.

Re: what size broadway mirror
any opinions on whether to get a flat blue mirror, or just a flat one?
|
Re: what size broadway mirror
All of their mirrors cut down on glare. I can definitely tell the difference when I look at headlights in the Broadway versus in my OEM side mirrors and I have the black one.
I would recommend the plain flat one (even though I have the convex one). The convex one lets you see more but of course everything looks further away. Personally I'm not a fan of the blue tint, but if you like it, go for it.

What are you talking about? The Broadway mirror goes directly over the stock mirror, it's not any higher or lower at all. |

dude, im not gettin the 5 panel mirror. looks shitty on a street car. i ordered a flat 270mm broadway mirror...
|
Re: what size broadway mirror
Those broadway mirrors just add weight to the mirror and make it fall down more. That's the whole reason I got rid of mine and went back to just using stock.
