swap problems b20 in crx
i am swapping a b20z in my crx, obviously its obd2, my main concern is that i want to convert my crx to obd1... i know i need the jumper harnes, what else would i need to be able to run the b20.... i am using my ls intake manifold... do i need to use a da integra distributor in the b20 also.... just hoping someone could shed some light on the subject........... thanks

Re: swap problems b20 in crx
if you are going obd1 use the b18 disty i would assume.

Re: swap problems b20 in crx
the 92-93 disty is obd1 for sure
possibly some 94-95 obd1 |
Re: swap problems b20 in crx
even though its out of a da

Re: swap problems b20 in crx
if you want to go obd1 then use the ls dizzy from a 92-95 teg. it will work
|
Re: swap problems b20 in crx
since you have a obd0 vehicle using the obd0 ecu from an 89-90-91 da would be most benificial, use the da ecu,the da intake manifold along with TB,enjectors and dizzy and you should be fine!
you will have some plugs left behind unwired such as the knock sensor by the oil filter but dont worry these do not need to be wired with the da ecu nor will it give a code or problem that way! GL bro, Iam sure youll be happy to have a 2lt monster with all that tq,bottom end with a light chasis like that and good choice with the usdm Z motor, enjoy! |
Re: swap problems b20 in crx
you really should go obd1, to take advantage of the power availabe.
although you dont have to. |
Re: swap problems b20 in crx
do the obd1 swap run all electronics from a obd1 teg and you will be good, you will love that motor i had one in a hatch a few years back and that bitch pulled nasty for a 2000$ car put tha bottle on it 50 shot could walk zs and gts like nothing

Re: swap problems b20 in crx
well i was told by a buddy that if i use the da integra ecu then it wont be quite enough fuel

but if it is. easy fix, adjustable fuel regulator or buy a programed ecu or run s300 |

Re: swap problems b20 in crx
I too agree with the guys above,I would suggest going obd1 with a ls ecu, and your buddy is off with his guess, the ls ecu actually runs the b18b a little rich just like any other honda map therefore its actually bang on for the b20z. and for the guy with a b20 crx claiming its crap what you comparing it too? I had a obd1 b20z in an eg vx with an ls intake & exhaust manifold, dizzy, ecu(all available for dirt cheap just simple b18b stuff) along with an intake, itr catback and I ran 14.9, I would say thats fast considering I had no tune,no vtec, barely any performance mods,a stock and quite honda exhaust! you my friend either cant drive, have a b20b(20 hp,0.8 compression less than a b20z plus older) or your just comparing it to built cars. a freind has a stock jdm b20b(p8r head) with cams i/h/e in a ef and runs high 13's which aint bad IMO!
