Hmmm could be aliment do you have any unusual tire wear. Wheel bearings do make a kind of woshhhing noise when going strait and when you turn the wheal sometimes it will go away. My guess it is a wheel bearing. Jack up your car and see if you can move the wheel side to side like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5khjK0y6PIw most likely its a bad wheel bearing. It probably isn't aliment but my friend had a car that had a bad aliment and forever we thought it was a wheel bearing.

You may have to buy the whole hub, thats what i had to do on my gf's sable. Its easier then replacing bearings anyway.

I have this problem before but have determine which wheel's making noise? If you think that wheel's making noise then i did go change it. Sometime it could be the tires making noise. This happens

a cupped or feathered tire could make a growling noise. normally rear tires cup on the inside of FWD vehicle. if you recently rotated then heard the noise....then this would be the case. run your fingers across the inner tread or outer tread of the tires. if you fingers vibrate when doin gthis then your tires are cupped. cupped tires are genarlly from lack of rotates. every 5k-6k they should be rotated

a wheel bearing can make a growling noise. grab the tire like in the video. or you can spin the tire in the air and hold onto your spring. the spring will send vibrations from teh wheel bearing into your hand.

an alignment will NOT make a growling noise. it might be a good idea to get an alignment if your tires are cupped...but an alignment in itself will not make the noise.

Jack up the car and do what the video shows, just see if it feels loose or whatever. I did this to mine and its blatantly obvious. Hondapartscheap.com has the OEM bearing at like 60 bucks. I'm going to try and do some time next week.
