Do AEBS and ARP use the same head stud nuts?

So my vendor is telling me it would be cheaper and faster to find a set of nuts on my own. I have the AEBS nuts and apparently when i first installed and torqued them, i used the wrong socket and rounded the 12points.

I now know that the AEBS nuts are 1/2". I called Don, he said the ARP's he has used were also 1/2".

However, I called ARP and they said the nuts are a 12x1.25mm and use a 14mm socket size.

I'm at a loss here on what to order....and i need to order them and have them here before my head gasket arrives.

Thanks.

All the ARP and GE head stud nuts I have here are 1/2 or 13mm 12 points for the socket. What did Race Engineering say? They should have had a set of nuts.
I think they are 11mmX1.25 not 12mm studs.

these are b-series vtec headstuds set of ARP and AEBS
nut thread is m11x1.25
either nuts will work on either stud
these nuts use a 13mm 12pt socket, im sure a 1/2" 12pt is close to a 13mm thats why some people say 1/2" 12pt socket

threads on smoothlY!
the bottom of the nuts are visually virtually the same, both flat faced

the ARP nut appears rounded but that is not done by me, just received this way
this could be the use of the wrong size socket

M11 doesn't come in 1.25mm unless it's custom, which is unlikely it's probably M12 x 1.25 or M11 x 1.

Guess i need to toss all my mikes and vernier calipers away as they are all fooocked up and measure 11mm. I guess i will also toss my 2 time-sert kits for honda's away also. They are for 11X 1.5 threads. Damn i have to recall all those repairs, and blocks with 11mm ARP head studs. 10 + years down the drain.

.431 give or take. Thats about 10.95mm These are for a B18C. That is what you guys are talking about right.

Edit: I just read the thread size on the ARP nut itself. It says 7/16-20.

Re: Do AEBS and ARP use the same head stud nuts?

well whatever, i ordered the 12x1.25mm from summit. If they are wrong, i will return them for the next size failure.

this is ****ing ridiculous

Re: Do AEBS and ARP use the same head stud nuts?

why dont you call ARP and order directly from them?? i might be wrong but the threads from the studs that go into the block are different from the threads the nuts go onto...thats how it is for other cars....

Correct, they don't thread in upside down.

To the OP:
Find someone with a thread pitch gauge (or buy one at the hardware store), measure the stud diameter and presto you have the specs for the nut you need.

i did, i explained the situation to them and they said 12x1.25. Show me anywhere where they make and advertise one of their nuts as 11x1.5 or 11x1.25

it would have also helped if aebs had a contact number instead of an email address that doesnt even work.

ok well i got the nuts today. I called arp again to reassure myself. I gave them the part number of the package and they said it is the correct nut for their stud - 12mmx1.25

Do they fit? It is possible that there is a STD thread on that end as dlaub25 mentioned.

Re: Do AEBS and ARP use the same head stud nuts?

I forgot you are doing H22 studs and you did not mention that, they may be 12mm. Bseries are 11 mm, D series 10mm. ARP and AEBS should be the same.
