i thinking of putin p29 pistons in my zc dohc anything i should know i re doing the bottom end for the hell of it maby the top

the 88-91 JDM DOHC ZC has PM7 pistons which are exactly the same as the P29 pistons - the P29s are from the 92-95 JDM DOHC ZC, but they are no different than the PM7s

my suggestion... dont forget to replace the head gasket! cuss youll be fine the bore and nose of the piston is identical to the pm7 just the p29 has a higher compression if im thinkin correct

The Pm7 pistons and the p29 pistons have the same compression. They are the same dome and compression height.

PM7's come in 88-91 D16A1 Integras
P29's come form JDM DOHC ZC. all DOHC ZC's use the P29's.

not sure about what 88-89 D16A1s had (pretty sure it was P29s) but i am sure as far as DOHC ZCs are concerned, only 92-95 OBD1 JDM DOHC ZCs had P29 pistons - 88-91 OBD0 JDM DOHC ZCs had PM7 pistons - this is a picture of 88-91 DOHC ZC

wow, your right lol i just looked at mine and they are PM-7's. my bad lol
but the D16A1's in the 86-89 integra used PG-6's, and yes the 92-95 were P29's. but there is no difference in dome CC's, so the PM-7's and P29's are the same pistons.

What about p28 pistons? what are the difference between those and the p-29's?

so it would be just be a stock replacement just a bit more compression would my factory rods be able to hold to these pistons the main reason i doin it is cause i doin stg2 cams and my buddy has them brand new for me dirt cheap any recomendations this is a daily driver i want keep from shorting my engine life

P28? thats an ECU not a pistons. P28 and P08 are ECU's while P29 is a piston. Honda didnt have a real sequence of order for the pistons. PM-7 and PG-7 are similar in design but different dome CC's and such and such.


as for throwing them in, your wasting your time. The PM-7's that you have and the P29's are the same dome CC pistons. the only thing you could do that would be worth while while they are out would be to shot peen the rods, or get new rods...and maybe better bearings. But with stage 2 cams, you dont need to worry at all. just get a tune and youll be fine

well actullly your right in the sence p28 is an ecu but there are p28 pistons they are from a d16z6(usdm) and the dish in at about -10.10(negative)

look it up yourself as well jsut in case you are scetchy about hearing 2 diffrent answeres but they do exist

as far as p28 pistons go keep your pm7's like everyone ahs sadi they are identical the only diffrence between pm7 and p29 is simply the piston code in the sence of what you looking for the pm7 and p29 have the same dome/compression

The p28 pistons being dished at a huge -10.10 in comparission to your pm7/p29 pistons will drop your compression ratio substantly

ok well then the money goes to the obd1 hondata stg2 cams 6puck and flywheel and new headers and exhaust thanks for your help guys by the way anyone used lucas in there tranny how does work is it worth it

I just googled it again and FINALLY get a picture of the freakin P28 pistons. thank you for correcting me on that one. thumbs up to you

p29 and pm7 are completely different because off the way the pm7 piston are domed shaped.

so dont have any advantages do change pm7 for p29 or p29 for pm7?

I have a CRX 16i16v, D16Z5 from 1992, but i dont know if is obd0 or obd1 or if is pm7 or p29.

Just for your information, i am study a way to make a All Motor project.
