D16y8 Engine Coolant Temp Sensor broke off
 
Any easy way to get it out? its the one that sends the info to the comp.

Its broke right at where the thread ends, guessing previous over busted it off tigning it down to much...went to replace and found it busted....

if im thinkin correctly the housing comes right off..the same housing for the thermostat..take the housing off and replace it with another one..or take it off and a shop should be able to get it out for you if you cant do it yourself..

Unfortunately it's not on the thermostat. The fan switch is, but ECT is around the upper radiator hose.
Have you tried "locking pliers" yet to grab the remainder of the sensor?

it basically broke clean off level with where it screws in at....maybe an easy out?

Worth a try. If it sheared off from an over-torque as opposed to corrosion, it should be removable this way...Just be careful and use high quality metal bits, driven pneumatically if you can. Last thing you want is to get into the sensor and then break a drill bit tip off in your new hole. Go slow don't harden the metal.

according to prev. owner, he broke it off putting the new one in....so thats whats its gotta be from, which easy out should i use? ive seen several....let me know ill ill buy it!
