My speedometer doesn't work, but all other gauges are fine.

Ok, I tackled my 1st problem and now i need to get a grip on the 2nd. I have a 95 accord 4cyl vtec 2.2 w/ 162k miles on it. My speedometer only works sometimes usually on the highway or at faster speeds(so it seems). All the other gauges work fine and its not the fuse/s. Could it be the wiring on the back of the dash kit thingy(not sure what its called)? Should i just get a whole new Gauge(ometer) thing? :) Thanks

Most likely the VSS.

If you get a new cluster, note that if you ever sell the car, it will come up on Carfax as tampered or whatnot since the mileage wont match up.

Next time you drive it check to see if your cruise control works and if it does then your speedo is bad which happens alot on your model. I have a 96 Accord EX, 125k with the same problem.
What I did is have my son follow me in his car and cell phones on and had my passenger write down what the RPM was reading at 25mpg, 30mpg, 35mpg, 40mph, etc. through 70 mpg. It was not worth the cost and trouble of changing out the cluster or trying to fix it for me. I then took those numbers and typed them up on a piece of paper and then laminated the paper and stuck it on my cluster. Same result as speedo.

If you don't have a Check Engine light or a flashing D4 light, then it is most likely the speedo head, or the speedo printed circuit board and not the VSS.

Check this thread out on how to replace the speedo PCB and keep your mileage reading if the odometer works:

Ok my cruise control does work and i have no check engine light on. uhm, i'm not sure what the d4 light is or where for that matter, please elaborate. Thanks red that looks exactly like my cluster, so i'll definitely check out that thread more. I'll probably drive my honda until it won't drive any more. I've had it for 9 or 10 years, so maybe changing the whole unit will probably be the easiest way to go.

On automatics, depending on the transmission trouble code, the D4 light may come on. One of the transmission trouble code is related to the VSS. Since you have neither, it is most likely the speedo printed circuit board. I recommend you just replace the printed circuit board.
