Re: honda civic key programming
ummm all i can tell you is to take your registration and license to the honda dealer and have them program it. cuz they have the code for it.

yea its gonna cost. i tihnk someone said 150 for the key and reprogramming. but it doesnt matter if you have ad100, cuz if you dont have the code it does you no good.

Re: honda civic key programming
Pretty sure you're going to need the Honda HDS to program that key. Why did you buy aftermarket locks anyways? What was wrong with the Honda one?

Re: honda civic key programming
i dunno about a 8 digit code but the honda HDS usually ask for a 5 or 6 digit pw

But for the key to be programmed, you need a code... which comes from Honda. From what I gather, the dealer has to call Honda and probably give them some information such as dealership credentials and also the vehicle/owner info. Then Honda supplies them with a code. I think this is the same if you change the ECU in the car as well. |
Re: honda civic key programming
We use the HDS to program the key, we have a pass code that changes every other month for security purpose. My dealer charges $50 to program the key and a $100 for the key.

HA! 50$ is a deal, we charge $100. I believe the keys are $125+, parts dept is ridiculous. |
Re: honda civic key programming
Hey guys,
Even though this post is really old....just want to say thanks for the great info. Trying to help friend of mine, at least now I know it definitely needs to go to "stealer-ship" to get this done. Btw, anyone know how long this process usually takes? Thanks again guys |
