Water/coolant leak at pipe+pump ??? Help please
 
ok i just rebuild my sohc went to put coolant in and noticed there coolant leaking right at were the coolant pipe and water pump meets ? { u know were the long metal pipe goes into block}


any ideas ? anybody had this happen before ?

it leaks right on the back side of the waterpump and water pipe meets ??? d16a6 block

Replace the waterpipe o-rings.

Get a new O-ring that goes from the pump onto the water tube from honda, cant cost more than a few dollars.

im 99% sure when i installed it i replaced that, so thats the only thing that can make it leak there right ?

unless you pinched the O-ring that goes around the water pump where it meets the block, that is the only thing that could make it leak.

Make sure that the pipe doesn't have a crack it it beneath the o'ring. I've had this happen before. Also I have had to replace several of these pipes on different hondas because the acidic antifreeze ate the lip of the pipe off and it continues to leak antifreeze, Honda keeps these in stock because of this problem.
