Just woundering if anyone has had a problem with there CRVs warning buzzer. 2006 crv headlight warning buzzer just stopped working the other day. Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
Does the dome light turn on when you open the driver's door? if not than you need a driver's door switch. Seen this a million times on these crvs.

You can just take the switch out and pop it back together usually. |
Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
dome light turns on when the driver side door is open. thanks for the input I guess I will have to do a lttle more trouble shooting
Edit: some times I hate newer cars. The damb key flob turns on the dome light parking the car turns on the dome light lock or unlock the car the dome light turns on. Park the car turn it off and sit in it until the domelight goes out open the drivers door and wow the dome light doesn't turn on. Looks like the door switch is bad. Thanka for the info |
Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
I believe that you will also find that the door switch not operating will cause the warning sound when the key in left in the ignition to fail. Also, if you use the remote keyless entry fob to open the door, a door switch failure will mean the door opening is not detected by the system and the doors will automatically relock after 30 seconds if the engine is not started in that time frame. This could be a bad thing if you use keyless entry and then toss you books and keys in the car and then close the door to go back into the house to get something else. When you come out, the car will be locked with your keys inside.

Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
I realize this is a fairly old post, and certainly there a dozen more just like it, but I have a question concerning this issue. My door chime is so low sounding that I think it needs to be replaced. Does anyone have the part number to the chime/warning buzzer part? I tried looking on every parts website I could find and cannot seem to locate the P/N.

Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
I have a 2006 CRV and it's doing the same thing and I posted here and nobody answered. I know a honda technician of 15 years and he told me door switch. Only problem is that the dome light still works and I found a suggestion, not in this forum, that said it might be another issue, not door switch because dome light still works. My alarm doesn't work for key in ignition switch when door is open and car is off either. I think they're related. Headlight on alarm doesn't work when key is out and door is open either. With that said, if you'll notice that the common factor is door open and vehicle shut off. I'm replacing door switch, despite the fact dome light still works when door is open and vehicle is shut off.

Re: CRV headlight warning buzzer
All the chimes for the crv come from a tiny speaker like device on the instrument cluster. The door switch is its trigger. If the switch is not grounding ( door open= switch closed) itself current won't flow and the chime will not sound. This door swith is a simple as it gets.
