Do I need a flex pipe for exhaust?

My HF didn't have one. Does my ZC need one?

A flex pipe...that is part of the exhaust that is "flexible". Normally, it has some sort of criss-cross meshing around it. Most cars have this just after the header(s). As I've never seen an SI model, I wouldn't know if it had one or didn't. I bought an HF which didn't have one....not like massive torque is an issue(which is the main reason cars have them.) I thought that the ZC might need one considering the power it has. I was just wondering if anyone has used one or has even needed one?

I know what you mean man, looks like an over sized stainless steel braided line. Do you need one? That I'm not sure of.

i know what your talking about, its this piece that is between the exhaust manifold and the cat. converter, that is made up of springs that way if there is too much torque the exhaust manifold wont crack since it can move a bit at the bottom, im pretty sure its a good idea to have that way like i said it wont crack or break the e.manifold...

if your not using the bolts with the springs that connects the header and cat then you should be using a flex pipe cuz the header needs some play when the engine moves
