Re: (dacrxguy)
Have you already done the MPFI swap?
I would do that and drive the car a bit as an mpfi d15b2 that way you know you did everything right. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (89s1)
no i havent done tha mpfi swap yet. its still dpfi. but i think thats the first thing imma do then. what would i need to go from dpfi to mpfi?

You are about 5 hours worth of searching away from asking that question right about now. You're lucky you got what you did. I was about ready to just reply "search" to your original post. Don't poke a sleeping bear. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emdgust.gif |

Thanks for posting that in your reply. this thread is now likely to help someone else searching in the future. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif Also. there is a little bit more horespower to be found if you substiute the si intake manifold for a vtec version off the d16z6 or d16y8. Just figured you would like to know. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif OH! and you dont absolutely NEED the si throttle cable. you can use yours if you just loop it around the drivers side mount before attaching it. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif You unlock a bit of info on your own and i'll help out with a bit of my own from my own memory archives/personal experience. |
Re: (89s1)

Re: (ThaBread)
k sounds good.
I was out getting towed behind a boat today so i'm a lil worn. I'm heading to bed but I'll check in tommorow for sure. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Re: (ThaBread)
You are going to want to use your existing wiring harness and add the necessary extra wires for the injectors and distributor. Using the Si harness will only give you headaches. The only thing the Si harness is good for is the extra plugs you'll need for the distributor and injectors.

oh, shit i didn't even notice he had the harness written down there. Redline is correct. You will want to add the necessary wires, it sounds like more work but really is less. |
Re: (89s1)
oh alright then.
well to make tha whole thing easier. i can juss buy tha dpfi to mpfi conversion harness. something like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors....m245 |
Re: (ThaBread)

Re: (efjones9)
still havent been able to collect all the parts.
ive had to spend all my money on fixing the damn car. an oil leak between the engine and tranny. and my car has a very high idle which i cant seem to solve. 3,000 rpm!! http://is.rely.net/1-92-30002-l-J5Zy...RHu47Ah02g.gif soon enough though ill have everything underway. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif |
Re: (ThaBread)

Re: (SOcal-EF2)

|
Re: (ThaBread)
its an EG Si engine as what my bro has told me..he found it for me...
|
Re: (SOcal-EF2)
d16z6 then. thats the 92-95 si and ex engine. thats a good engine tho. the one i would want to swap if i wasnt doing the mini me. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Re: (ThaBread)
sup man..im actually not going to get that engine cause of the hydro and cable clutch situation..im picking up a 91 CRX Si engine for 200...which is the D16A6....iTS CABLE AND OBD 0...

Re: d15b2 mini me swap the right way!
Awesome build, this thread has helped me a lot. I'm goin to do this in my car. It really sux cuz about 3 months ago I put in a new d15 into my ef, now that I know about hondas and the different engines I was kinda mad... But now I know about THE MINI ME SWAP.
|
Re: d15b2 mini me swap the right way!
trust me on this. dont waste ur time with a mini me and mpfi swap. u really end up wasting lots of time and lots of money. and in the end, you dont get wut you really want.
save up for a b-series engine, and do a complete swap. its much much better. its wut im doing with my stock b15b2. then when u swap it out. you can get 450-600+ $ for ur d15, im sure someone wants it. i do have a z6 head, d16 intake mani with all the sensors. fuel rail, FPR, injectors, TB, and injector res box. i also have a VTEC solenoid with the plug. i live in SD, and i see ur in cali too. I would be glad to sell you the stuff i have, as i wont need it anymore. i could even drive it to you and help you with as much of it as possible. i got a lot of ef shit sitting in my room. if u wanna work something out. pm me yo. but if u ever need a set of hands. i could always find some time. |
