I'm guessing 4cyl by the LX, so you don't need anything more than 87. Anything more is a waste of money. You can run 93 and you might see a slight hp gain and slight improved MPG, but outside of that, no real perks.

Even the v6 doesn't require anything more than 87. Apparently, if you use premium in the v6, the computer will mess with timing and give an additional 10 hp.

87 all the way, its cheaper

Nope not at all, that is not the first time I've heard that. I've never seen concrete data to back it up, but apparently thats what Honda says.

Honda Accords were made to perform optimally on 87 octane gas.

I've got an 03 EX V6 6-speed Navi coupe.....and I SWEAR it runs faster/better on 91 oct vs 87.....(in CA there is no 93).......

Like the others are saying stick with the lower grade 87 you'll be just fine! Even if the myth is correct about a additional 10hp by using Supreme gas you won't really notice it much and it may even lower your MPG. Then you'll be just kicking yourself!

Well I tried 89 octance last year and the car slowed down. My mph in quarter mile dropped. I went back the week later with regular (87) octane and my mph went back up to normal. By the way I drive 2004 accord ex v6 coupe automatic.

Use whatever level your manual suggests, any more and it is a waste. Because, octane is used to control pre-detonation. Knock. That's all. Nothing to do with the amount of horsepower it will generate. Gas is gas at that point. Horsepower is made via compression ratio, which then dictates octane level to contro, pre-detonation.
Any brand will be fine. If you have problems with your gas its the station, not the brand. It all comes out of the same hole it the greound(storage tanks).

All the gains people report are very subjective, since they typically compare two different points in time, when other factors that affect performance are not controlled and not the same. (i.e. ambient temp, tire pressure, barometric pressue, etc., etc.)

Go by the manual, you can't go wrong.
