Accord Tire Size Question

Hi, I have a 2000 Honda Accord LX 4 foor sedan. I have been running 195-15 tires, but have been offered a free set of 205-15 tires. I have been told that I can "go up one size" in tires, but could not go down to 185s.

Is this correct? Will the 205s be OK on my vwhicle?

Thanks in advance!

I believe that those years cam with 195/65r15, So I'm thinking that you can use 205/60r15 without a sweat

Yeah, now what is the compete size of the 205s? If it's 205/60, you're good to go.

Re: Accord Tire Size Question (craigseuf)

eh, it's about a 1/2" bigger on the OD... a 205/60/15 would be better IMO.

You'll be fine.

Re: Accord Tire Size Question (TouringAccord)

Well, I am getting the tires for free so it's not an issue of choice. So you're saying I can use the 205-165-15s?

LOL, I have one person from MI telling me I'll be fine, and the other person from MI telling me another size would be better?

Re: Accord Tire Size Question (craigseuf)

The size is very close to stock, and it will work. If you were paying big money for the tires, then 205-60 would be better (if you had a choice), but since it's free, just get them.

I never said the others wouldn't work fine, just that I feel the 60 would be better...

also, may want to take a look at this...

Re: Accord Tire Size Question

Actually, the manual for my 96 accord reccomends 205/55/15 as an option as well..

I have also run 205/60/15 without any issues..
