question on running a garrett TC4305

hey guys i need your opinion this ..

ok, im finishing my new built :

b18c5(itr) block gsr head
eagle h-beam rods
wiseco pistons(8:9-1)81mm
stock crank
golden eagle block guard
450cc
log manifold
3"dp
blox imf
etc...
on crome
ok now my question..

im using a garrett (TC4305 turbo) The compressor side has a 58mm wheel, 70 trim, .70 A/R, the exhaust side is 57mm wheel, 76 trim and a .82 A/R

http://i130.photobucket.com/al...5.jpg

if i change the exhaust side to a .48 a/r and wheel ,would it restrict me on the top end ???
it just seams that the .82 is too big

power goals at least 350whp and up @15psi???? don't know

what do you guys think?

With a nice engine build like the one you listed, i would get something else for the turbo. If i were you, i'd look into either a 57 trim, SC34 or GT3255e. Also, your injectors are too small for your goals. A set of 550s might get you there, but i'd opt for a set of 720cc injectors

I agree with changing out the turbo. I'd never even heard of that model, which tells me it's REALLY old.

Save up and pick up a good GT series turbo. IF you can't wait that long, a precision SC turbo would work as well.

i agree you can find t3t4 turbos in many sizes on here for cheap new they are only in the $500 and they will all get you to your goal and some

If he doesn't have the money for ANYTHING else, i dont think a GT series is in the budget https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif I think you need to read before posting things

Also, for his power goals, there's really no reason to run a GT-R series unless its the GT28r. If anything, a used Garrett would do wonders for your setup and still not cost a ton.

Re: (chimmike)

i know what you mean man ...

the turbo came out of a 7.3 L power-stroke (garrett international),is actually a t4 on compressor side, t3 on turbine side.

Re: (Ekb18c5_BR)

oh the other question i have is that when i spoke to the guy wo sold me the pistons ,he told me the if i ran the head gasket that i have (cometic .072 )would put me to 8:9:1 cr. but i think that's using the stock with .030 .

does anybody know with a .072 what cr it would put me on????

thanks in advance..

Schister66 04-16-2008 05:47 PM

If you search "Honda compression calculator" on Google, you can find a few really good ones that will let you input the headgasket thickness along with your piston, head and block combo to determine your static compression
