MILANO RED PAINT CODE HELP??
 
HEY GUYS HOW YALL CAN TELL IM TRYING TO PAINT MY CAR..
IM PLANING TO PAINT IT MILANO RED . BUT THATS THE PROBLEM
I WAS LOOKING AT THE THE PAINT BOOK TODAY AND IT HAD LIKE 7 DIFERENT KIND OF MILANO RED CODES R81C, R81S, R81-3, R81-4, R81-5....THAT WAS OUT A PPG PAINT BOOK ... AND THE QUESTION IS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALL THOSE CODES ???? NEED HELP WITH THIS GUYS

They are different variants of milano red, some are darker,dirtier,lighter,cleaner,bluer,redder. Just go with standard R81.

why not try http://www.paintscratch.com search by model and make. From searching from the site I just mention if you looking for the honda civic si red its Milano Red Tricoat/Clearcoat [R-81]

like the guy said above. they are alternants. different cars come from different factories and have different shades. if you want to know yours. have your vin number ran at a paint shop. if not, just match up the chip to your car. the good thing about ppg is that they have those chips, and they are actually sprayed so thats what the color will look like. other paint manufacturers have printed color chips and they come out alot different than they look on the chip. if your doing a full respray just go with the most popular alternate.

WRD...that is the best way to get ur paint matched

most paint companys (dupont-ppg) can mix milano red in a base/clear instead of the factory tri-coat. on a side note i have seen paint companys mix it in base-clear and it looks nothing like milano red. do your research https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

i went thru the same problem. i just painted it roma red instead. looks better imo.
