transmission serial number
 
any know how to decypher the id number on the transmission?

I assume you are referring specifically to 5speeds. If so, they all (HF, DX, SI) are L3's and the other numbers wont tell you anything. Do a search on the crx resource board and it will outline the test to determine which gear ratio the tranny has (i.e. whether it's from an HF, DX, or SI)

after reading the post, what i'm refeering too is the serial number on the tranny. any way to tell what year and type of tranny it is from that?

serial number is useless.
