F4i starting problems and battery problems need help ASAP
 
Well I was gone out of the country for about 2 months and I when I came back I found that my battery was dead on my bike...so I went too honda bought a new battery and installed it...when I tried too crank the key only thing happened was this clicking noise...I couldn't figure it out so I installed the old dead battery and the clicking noise happened again...what could be wrong..and yes the lights and clock are still on

Sounds like your new battery isn't charged. I doubt you needed to replace the old one, it just needed to be recharged.

Also, make sure you aren't making any simple mistakes (kill switch on, trying to start in gear, ect)

the clicking noise is your spark plugs

you need to listen for 3 important sounds on a start up.
1. fuel pump whine when you hit the ignition switch
2. crank when you hit the starter button
3. spark plugs clicking

you have the clicking. do you have the other 2?

Did you try to charge your old battery before you bought a new one?

BTW how much did your new battery run you from the dealer?

I bet he got ripped! haha...

but yea, charge your old battery, and then start the bike. Remember, majority of sport bikes don't charge the battery when sitting at a stop, only above a certain RPM will the charging system start.

Thanks for the help ill go try and charge the battery tehn..you guys know where I can get this done and how much would it cost??

Any autoshop should be able to help you with battery testing and charging
