Possible reasons for steering wheel vibration?
I've noticed the steering wheel vibrates when the car reach to 120km/h (75mph) and the vibration stops when it reach around 140km/h (87.5mph). What could be the possible reason?
I've been told that it might be my tires are off balance. I will bring the car in the shop soon but just want to know what to expect. btw, my stock tires has 25K km (15K miles) , been on the track 2 times and the left side of each tires are bladed (pretty much) since there are lots of right hand turns on the track that I ran on. Highest probabilty is an unbalance wheel. Either the tire as uneven wear or you lost a balancing weight.

i think he lost a weight time to do re-balancing I guess. btw, why would it only vibrates at 120km/h but not at a higher speed? thanks, CS [Modified by CS, 3:20 PM 7/2/2002] |

your alingment could be off, if you hit something on the road recently.

try to put your rear wheels on the front, fronts in the rear, and see if the car still vibrates. If it does, then it's your wheels (balancing, tires, or wheels). If not, then it's somehting in your suspension.

Re: Possible reasons for steering wheel vibration? (CS)

if you have those sticky weights, you probably lost 1 or 2. They just fly off over time. look for like some sponge/glue shit on the inside of your rim, if U run sticky weights. That could be a sign of a sticky weight that have flown off.
