trouble mounting my ASR rear 24mm sway bar on my 2000 civic si

Alright fella's, I ordered my ASR 24mm sway bar from weaksauce a few weeks back and decided to put it on tonight. I noticed while trying to line the holes up with the "D" brackets that the holes for the bolts were covered by the bracket when one bolt would go in.

To try and make better sense of it, only one bolt on each side of the D bracket would line up, and the other hole would be covered by the bracket.

This frustrates me, because i remember asking Weaksauce on the phone if the ASR sway bar would work with my Carbing rear lower tie bar, and they were firm with their assurance that it would work.

So I am asking, do I need to have the ASR subframe brace in order to run the sway bar?

How far off is it? A photo would help.

about a solid 1/4".

Pretty much, there are 4 main bolts (2 on each side) of the sway bar that go into the D brackets. I can only line up the top two, or the bottom two.

Is it possible for you to get different brackets/bushings?

You will have to run the carbing low tie bar on top of the asr brace if thats what your wondering.

So you bought the sway bar, but not the brace? How are you mounting it to the subframe.

96-00 Civic subframes are known to be somewhat weaker than 92-95 Civics and 94-01 Integras. I would highly suggest the ASR brace, which should make it a complete bolt-on affair and no worries of subframe tear-out.

** You actually need the ASR brace itself to mount their new 24mm setup. I believe there was some miscommunication regarding which brace you have.

YES...and when you get the subframe brace you will be instructed to drill a new hole for the bolt that goes into the D bracket. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

I wouldn't think it would interfere with your LCA's at all.
