There's standing water in the back of my Sol and I can't figure where it's at!

Ok just as I said in the title, I'm getting water in my car somewhere through the back window. I bought a new seal from honda for the window thinking that would help but it don't...When I go around a corner I can hear water sloshing around in the back. I have a huge stero system in the back (kinda like the stelth box by JL audio (I think that's who makes it) which makes it hard finding time to take everything out. I just got it out and where I thought the water would be sitting it's not...it's not in the trunk either. My whole cabin is completely covered in dynomat and I can't see any water. Anyone know where the water might be sitting at??? Sounds like it's under the metal where the storage units would be. I want to drill a hole so the water will drain but I can't find how to get to it! http://is.rely.net/1-92-83128-l-OQ7p...WduI005zmA.gif

got this from a old mag (grassroots motorsports december 05) "If the trunk is wet, the plastic clips that secure the rear sail panels are probably to blame. These clips eventually snap and allow water to enter the fender cavity and pool in the trunk. Fortunately the fix is easy, and the parts are not too expensive: Figure $2.45 each for the clips. (you'll need two of them-one per side-the part no. is 91505-sr2-003)" hope that helps or i just type a whole lot of nothing.lol

I've already done that...Thanks though...I know the water is coming in trough the rear seal at the bottom of the window. Like I said in the post, if I can find out exactly where the water is sitting at, I'll drill a hole so it can drain. The water seemed to evaporate since it usually sits in the garage and hadn't been out in the rain in a month or so but when I was visiting my mom it started raining like a mother for about 10 hours and it sounds like there's at least a gal of water in there! Everything is out of the trunk...granted it does have a little water in the trunk (maybe a tea spoon or two) but that's not the case as it is in the car...I just want to find where it's at http://is.rely.net/1-92-65076-l-NREc...mLFY3DaZnA.gif

heres more: "While you're replacing those two plastic clpis, clean out the drains that can be found under the sail panel. clogged drains can lead to a wet trunk." hope that helps because thats all im typing out of a magazine for now.

Haha, well thank you...I thought of another place I forgot to look...the one inch gap where the window sits at...There is about one inch of water sitting in there. The wierd thing about it is that it's a completely "sealed pocket" (if you will) for the window...from the inside there is a 2"x1" hole underneath this "pocket". I kave no clut how in the hell I can get to it to drill a hole...worse yet, if I do drill a hole, it's gonna leak into the cabin https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emsad.gif The only wat I can think of to solve this is to drill a hole at the bottom of the "window pocket" and construct a drainage davice (like a gromit with a hose conected to it, drill another hole through the bottom of the car so it can drain...Unless you can think of a better solution

If it were me id avoid drilling the hole as that could make a hot spot (a spot where rust would likely show up later). id remove the water for now and then fix the problem. to remove the water id syphon it out or use a towel to soak it up. other than that this problem is over my head.

Hey, thanks for the thread...I have 2 layers of dynomat covering all of that. I'll think of a way to get the water out but as soon as it rains, it's gonna be the exact same thing as thing as it is now...I have to find some way to fix it. I needed to see a pic so I can find where the bolts are and the thread you posed gave me that so thank you! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Haha, I just took EVERYTHING out and off and it turnes out that Honda isn't that stupid...what I was talking aobut drilling a hole or 2 so it couls drain and then hook up a hose so that it would drain out through the bottom of the car...Honda already did that! THey were just cloged up...also found a "for Sale" sign in the back stating that it had 20K miles on it when it sold, so I'm guessing that sign is about 11 years old, lol. Thought you might get a kick out of the drainage holes already there. Makes me feel a LOT better about the car https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/embeer.gif That should cover my agervation Lmao
