100,000 mile mark . Time for some service?

I have a 2003 Civic Ex coupe. My knowledge with engines is very limited. What does a rebuild actually consist of? I want to make this motor young again! Try to be nice, I'm just learning this stuff. Anything info, including part names would be great.

You are not ready for a rebuild yet my boy...you're just breaking in the motor.

You are probably due for spark plugs, valve adjustment, timing belt, water pump, transmission fluid change/flush, and check all fluids

You may want to find someone who knows hondas and walk you through stuff so you can learn hands on, or you may be looking at taking it to a mechanic to have the work done...

Read the FAQ's on this forum and jump over to (http://www.civicforums.com/forums/18...en-honda-civic) and read their walkthroughs. You should be able to learn quite a bit from these! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

Definitely change the timing belt! I didn't change mine in time and now I'm prob looking at a valve job too. Would've been cheaper to fix it before it snapped.

I'm just curious what an actual rebuild consists of. My car is in good shape at this point.

hey yeah these are honda engines not no home made ones! 100k yeah change the timing belt, get a tune up, and check if you need to add anything else, oil change transmission fluid. your past the beginning of breaking into the car. speaking of air fresheners. buy the one from like kragen or autozone its called fresh air under the seat or something it comes in different colors or mainly blue and theyre like little crystal rocks in a bag that smells great! i bought mine 2 weeks ago and it still smells good. price is like almost 5 dollars.
