HELP:: 1997 ACCORD STEREO REMOVAL
from the looks of it, it looked hard to remove the factory tape player from the dash in my 97 accord. can somebody tell me an easy way to get it out? i want to put an aftermarket cd player to replace it.

Re: (TheMuffinMan)
it's not there. do i have to go through all the work of taking out the whole dash and the shifter thing off as well? or is it simple as taking out the front part of the dash?

Re: (radiuslight)
just rip it out like those stereo jackers. KK imma tell you.
2 screws inside the center console, under the cover panel Pull out the cup holders and there are 3 screws under there. Pull that armrest/cupholder assembly back there are 2 screws on each side near the shifter Pull out ashtray, there is a screw deep inside. Use a magnetic screwdriver... =P Pull out that whole cover now. The trim. Remember to disconnect the connectors. There are a total of 3 connectors. Maybe 4. There are 2 screws under the radio now. Unscrew them and get to work... Just a brief overview. |
You know that's funny.
Interior Radio Install Guides First thing under Interior section, you obviously did not look |
Re: HELP:: 1997 ACCORD STEREO REMOVAL (akprelude99)
you must removee the center console by taking out the two bolts in the bottom of the center console. Then once that is removed then you will see more bolts in which the radio and tape assembly can be removed. Its not hard.
I have a 95 accord same style |

First time is always the hardest. It took me close to 15 minutes taking my oem player out. Now I could do it in less than 5 minutes
