a/c condensor fan fuse keeps blowing
 

I have a '97 Civic which the a/c compressor doesn't come on. I have found the problem to be a blown condensor fan fuse. The relays seems to be OK but the fuse keeps blowing whenever I turn the a/c on. Any other suggestions where to check?
It's still hot out here in FL.

check the condensor fan motor, if you apply voltage to it, does it run? Does it run slow? When they start to die, they run slower than the radiator fan.
Maybe the motor is stuck and it blows the fuse, or you have a shorted wire by the consenser assembly. There should also be a groun going to the compressor.

Turn on the AC, have a friend do it, watch both fans, turn off the AC and the condensor fan should stop much quicker, if its going bad. You could have a burned relay, burned relay socket, burned wire in the fan circuit, loose or corroded ground connection, burned or corroded connector in the fan wiring, bad fan motor / brushes. Carefully touch both motors to see how hot they get, the hotter one should be bad.

Motors and relay sockets are at the top of the list.

When you say both fans do you mean the radiator fan and condensor fan?? Also I disconnected the condensor fan and the fuse still blew when I turned the a/c on. I guess I can rule out the fan. Also anyone have the schematics for the electrical part of the a/c?

Still have this problem. I have replaced the condenser fuse, condenser fan, a/c unit and even swapped out the fuse box without success. I have found that the short occurs only when I turn on the a/c.

Any suggestions??
