loud sound from engine, maybe hole in exhaust manifold??
 

I jus got a 1990 honda accord exr, that first gave me trouble with a leak in the stearing fluid, and maybe a hole in the exhaust manifest. I dont kno much on repairing this vehicle, but i was wondering on what the symptoms would be of a hole in the exhaust manifold, there's also smoke coming from that area. Easiest check is to put a piece of paper around the exhaust manifold when the engine fan is not blowing. Then rev. it up and you should see it. Also, you can tell by sound alone. Jack it up and try to locate the sound while someone rev's the engine.

hole in exaust manifold(headers) will produce a real horrible smell if the hole is b4 the converter under the car...if you smell that...fix it asap...dangerous smell
