leaking struts
I got a Stock 02 Civic EX Cpe.
I noticed during oil change that the passenger side strut was leaking oil (or whatever liquid in there). Should I replace them ? I don't see any difference while driving. What are the consequences of driving without replacing ? Thx.. |
Re: leaking struts (rameshms)
replace em bro. They're broken.

if you don't notice a difference in drive ability you can probably still ride on them for a little bit more.

he'll still end up changing them due to their condition. it's just safer to replace them than have anything happen to you. |
Re: (oddmut)
If you really have to you can wait until they start to clunk. It's not the best thing to do, but I have seen plenty of people do it (myself included).

replace them if you got some money. Or at least plan for it. It's not safe, be careful while cornering. You don't feel it, because 3 others still works. If both front or rear are blown, then you start feeling it. Good luck.

Re: leaking struts (rameshms)
There's a bulletin out there somewhere that states a little weeping of oil from the shock is normal and doesn't necessarily mean that the shock is blown.
