F20B FAQ

F20B
Accord/Troneo Sir and Sir-T (CF4) (JDM)
197hp@7200/145tq@6600

85mm bore
88mm stroke
145.5mm rods (f20b rod length = 145.425)
1.65 r/s ratio
55mm mains like h22a4 block
rod journal has been offset ground on both sides to the size of a b-series rod journal.
11.0:1cr
smaller, b-series rod journals
beefy rod, like a s2000
23mm wrist pin https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif

exhaust manifold = H22
intake manifold = h22
dizzy = h22
timing belt = unique, uses 156 teeth, you can use a h22 one. (see below)
waterpump = h22
Oil Pan = F23

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by HeikDiesel &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">
Belt that came with my f20b from h-motors
14400-PCB-004 Teeth count 156
New H22 timing belt part number
1400-P13-003 Teeth count 155</TD></TR></TABLE>

Engine is a mix between the H22A4 and F23

Misconceptions about the F20B:
1. It does NOT come with a single stage intake manifold. That is found on the H22A7 European Accord type R. For everything that you'd ever want to know about that intake manifold click here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1960750

2. It does NOT have type S cams. It is believed that it has the same cams that are found in the JDM H22.
EDIT, 09/11/07: Manual version has type S cams, Auto Version has regular H22 Cams

3. Most engines will be from the automatics which have a smaller tb and weaker camshafts.

Specs of other honda ~2 literish engines for comparison
B20Z = 146hp, 133tq
F20B = 200hp, 145tq
F20C = 240hp, 163tq (JDM)
K20R = 220hp, 158tq (JDM)
H22A = 200hp, 161tq (JDM)
H22S = 220hp, 163tq (JDM)
H23A = 160hp, 156tq
H23VTEC = 197hp, 163tq
k20a2 = 200hp @ 7400, 142tq @ 6000

you sure about that? I could have sworn they're FRM.

Re: (skunked)

Not sure, but everything I read said there were iron. Any way to check that skunked?

Bense 06-21-2007 02:06 PM

jdogg will know. he's got one of these things sitting right beside him every time he gets online https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif

Well I have mine sitting right here...how would I check it? Magnet?

Re: (HeikDiesel)

I'm almost positive it's FRM. If they were Iron those blocks would be gold, and they're not https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif

HeikDiesel 06-21-2007 03:30 PM

Re: (skunked)

not saying everyone is right skunked but they are saying iron across the board

skunked 06-21-2007 03:31 PM

Re: (HeikDiesel)

Your right, it's a small bore (85mm) Iron sleeve. I was thinking type S https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emhammer.gif

Nobody mentioned it, but the valves are B series size in a head that is otherwise very similar to the H22 head.

Matt, he's right, the sleeves are iron, no frm here.

Re: (HeikDiesel)

So just to clear some issues up on another forum. On the F20b's does it actually have that stamped on the block (I believe they do)? Or does it still have H22 stamped (which makes no sense to me).

Gracias!

I am going to have to disagree with this comment. I have had 2 F20B motors and am currently using the F20B cams in my car. I spec'd them and also degreed them in the past. They match up IDENTICAL to the H22 Type S cams listed on the Crower site.
http://www.crower.com/cat/impo...shtml.

Normal JDM cams have the same lift, etc as normal USDM cams. I have dynoed both cams on my motor and F20B cams have much more lift and different duration and ramp angles than normal H-series cams. Here was my dyno comparison: http://www3.telus.net/public/unrynhen/camdiff.jpg
