I got 350 miles after coming back from my school a few weeks ago, 330 mile trip + a bit of city driving... I put in over 11 gallons, but less than 12... it was the most I've ever put in, though. As far as I know my cap and rotor is original at 113K miles. I've never changed them since I got the car at 89K miles. I do need to change them, and the plug wires, though.

maybe he means he's at 170 miles and used 1/2 tank? i actually had a questoin about replacing the cap and rotor, mine is fine but i want to replace them soon how do the generic ones form the auto parts store compare to OEM?

340 is definitely possible with the right kind of driving. The most I've gotten was 330 with all highway driving and two quick sprints...I could've gone a couple miles more too. I watch my mileage religiously.

well
in the past ive been plagued with horrible gas mileage.. so i changed my plugs, fuel filter, reset ecu, air filter, and a few other maintanence items.. i never really thought the cap and rotor would matter that much until i chagned it.. so what im tellin u guys is to change your cap and rotor if you havent.. cheap parts 8 dollars for rotor 17 for cap....

i really doubt a cap and rotor with really improve your gas mileage by that huge of a difference.

you guys gotta understand that this one part isnt going to give you good gas mileage... its just that alotta people overlook the cap and rotor

everyone please understand that HUGE changes are not typical. Also, this will in most cases not happen. You will probably get a change in millage somewhat. However, i have, at least to my knowledge the original cap and rotor...at least since i purchased the car at 70K. Now with 133K on the clock i routinely get 360-380 on a tank and have seen as high as 402 without a fuel light.....which i think might not be working correctly cause it never comes on. Granted that 402 was last summer and now i have more miles on her. I do however need to change them...just a matter of when.

I've put in 13.3 before, but I don't have the reciept to prove it. You can easily get 400 per tank of gas. Drive at about 70mph on a long road trip and you'll be amazed at what your mileage is. I think I got 36-38 mpg. The problem is self control, hahaha...

Yeah, I hit my 2nd best mileage about 3 weeks ago...... 388 miles on one tank.... about 30-40 miles of it was city and the rest was 65-75 mph freeway driving.

My best is 405ish on a tank of ALL freeway. Cruise control is your friend for gas mileage. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emlove.gif

Oh, and this is all on a heavily modded 140,000 mile '94 GS-R.
