B2D adapter plate?
Does anyone know of a B2D adapter plate out there yet? Bisimoto says there is one "coming soon," but for $600 i hardly see how it's worth the money. Has there ever been one made yet?

Re: B2D adapter plate? (SolAssassin)
I would like to hear why people would be interested in a b2d, other than cheap transmissions. I understand why guys get all hot and bothered about H2B, but as far as i can tell, all the D series trannys are geared longer than B's.

Re: B2D adapter plate? (gibsanez)
Its just another choice thats it. Doesnt mean its the answer to making any setup FASTER.

Re: B2D adapter plate? (exospeedAMcrx)
That would be a great alternative for people on a buget. I would be very interested on that

Re: B2D adapter plate? (Si Equals Yes)
Is this b-motor to d-trans, or other way around? Seeing as how performance parts (gears, lsd, etc) are the same for both series trannies, I don't see any reason to be running a d-series trans if you don't have to. Only reason would be if you had a built sohc trans and wanted to sell out half-way go with a b-series motor.
|
its harder for me to find an ex/si sohc tranny than any b16/gsr tranny.

Re: (eg:R)
well I have 4 cable d-trannys laying around, so im sorry if Its hard too find them for you.

Re: (s10cky)
$hit, I have d-series trannies coming out my ass, but if they want $600 for a plate then it will never be worth it
|
dude, 600? I really doubt that, It wouldnt be worth all the r&d to develop such a product and have no one buy it. I wonder if a stock flywheel and clutch will work when, and If this kit comes out. If the kit was like 250-300, I would be all over it. I have so many si and dx trannys I could have a nice gear box built.

Re: (s10cky)
I just recently did a clean up off the shop and I hauled two mint D16 SI cable trannies to the dump https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif If there was a kit for 2-300 i would be all over it https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

You tossed Those things?!!!! OMG, Ban.

Re: (s10cky)
i ment si/ex 92up civic tranny https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...es/emsmile.gif not cable trannys
|
Re: (s10cky)
the h2d adapter plate is like 6-700 dollars. thats why i'm thinking the b2d would be the same

I called them and FINALLY reached Bisi. He was very nice and told me that it has a tentative release date of mid to late march. The downside is that it will be estimated to be no less than $600 and may include a driver's side mount. But he said that if it needs a second mount the price will probably go up. That's a little steep for me. I could buy an LS tranny (if I end up putting it in an EF) and Hasport mounts for that kind of price. |
Re: B2D adapter plate?
Old post... But would be sick kit for a AWD EF wagon.

Re: B2D adapter plate?
IMO it would be worth it because you keep the stock mounts IIRC. you don't have to buy axles shift linkage or tranny and d series Trans can take more abuse than b series Trans due to having and I quote "shorter stubby gears"
