CTR replica Grill
Do the replica CTR grills found on sites such as jdmshit and robearracing have problems with fitment? The reason im asking is that i have a 97 ex and the grill is not collor matched to the car but has chrome around the edge, so i would have to get a new grill anyway to do a DIY.

Re: CTR replica Grill (turnsignalandy)
Your mention of a chrome trim around the edge of your stock grill lends me to guess you either have a sedan, or a sedan grill on a coupe or hatch.
Doesn't really matter though. The replica grills don't fit like stock of course, but with a little extra care, they can fit pretty damn good. I scored an OEM SI/Type-R grill for less then I paid for my replica, so look around and you might just find the score of the year. |

i got a 97 so a Si is outa the question, but ill keep my mind open.

Si grille is longer. |

Re: (turnsignalandy)
SI and Type R grill both have the same part number. They are exactly the same.
EDIT: For the 99-00 models I mean. |

I'd get the 96-98 Type-R grill in your case. Not cheap, but it'll fit perfect. |
Re: CTR replica Grill (jdm_ekcivic)
Do the real CTR grills have the mesh set farther in then the DIY CTR's? Im probably gona end up buying a white grill off a coupe or hatch then just do the DIY. The thing about the real CTR is that after you spend $200 on it you got to get it colormatched https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emthdown.gif

I've seen the DIY grill in pictures, but I haven't seen them in person so I can't really say if the mesh sits further back or closer then the real Type-R grill. I'm sure someone else can chime in with personal experience with the DIY grill. |
