fuel filter banjo bolt ?

when you tighten the banjo bolt on top of the fuel filter, the holes are supposed to line up with the hose that goes to the fuel rail right? how do you make sure these stupid ass holes line up? i turned my key to the acc so the fuel pump primed, and fuel came squirting out of the banjo bolt area. i wanna figure out why.

Did you replace the metal seals when you changed the filter??

No the holes do not have to be inline
You are just missing the cruch washers or the old ones need to be replaced

i did get all new washers and used them. the holes don't have to line up?

No. You'll notice if you pull it off that there's a space around where the holes are on the banjo bolt, so fuel will flow anyway.

ok. i took the banjo bolt off, put teflon paste on it, retorqued it to spec and it still sprays fuel. only this time, it sprays it in a different direction than last time. what could this possibly be? could it be that my fuel pressure is too high? i have a fpr which i don't know what the setting is on.

Are you sure you have both crush washers? one in between the filter and fuel line, and than another between the fuel line and the banjo bolt

yes both crush washers are on and the washer under the relief bolt is on too.

. . . . and it still sprays oil.
?

Where exactly is it spraying out of? All I can think of is that you've a bum washer.

oops i meant fuel of course. it's spraying from right under the head of the banjo bolt. the washers are new. you think i should try switching the two washers around and see what happens?

Re: fuel filter banjo bolt ? (Boss Hogg)

If you are using crush washers and not plane old washers and it's tq to helms
then every thing should be cool.
Do the banjo bolt or fitting have any marks on them I mean is the crush washer
making good cotact?

Re: fuel filter banjo bolt ? (rolow)

i would think that they are making good contact. i have no idea what could be wrong. could it be that the banjo bolt is broken under the head (since that's where it's spraying from)? i can't see any holes or anything though. i'm totally stumped.

Did you ever find out what was wrong?

Re: fuel filter banjo bolt ? (rolow)

no but i've ordered a b&m fuel pressure gauge kit. that should come tomorrow. it comes with a new banjo bolt. i'm sure that'll do the trick. if it doesn't, i'm sellin' this pos.
