HELP!!! getting out rusted caliper bolts
 

my rear brakes or woen down all the way and I tried to remove the lower bolt holing the caliper on but I broke an extension trying to remove it. how can i get out rusted bolts??? need help ASAP, by the way, I used wd40 and tried pb blaster but the bolt was soooo freaking stobborn. Is there a way to maybe scrape the rust off somewhat?

PB Blaster, patience, some muscle and a breaker bar.

Or if you have access to an impact gun, that would work quite easily.

Ah, you edited your post to include the PB Blaster & WD-40 before I posted. Patience man, just let that PB Blaster soak in; maybe even over-night. Possibly even a cheater pipe attached to a breaker bar for even more leverage. Or like I said, an impact gun.

EDIT AGAIN:
Should have read your post a little slower. You're having trouble on the REAR caliper bolts. Alright, I would definitely recommend heating the bolt until it glows dark red, wait until it cools down just enough (practice) and it will come out with minimal effort

thats all great advice except for the impact gun part. if the bolts are rusted on theres a really good chance you will break the head of the bolt off if you use an impact gun.then you have a REALLY big problem. ive done it before quite a few times myself.

soak the crap out of the bolt with pb blaster, let it sit a while, use a long breaker bar and a pipe and it should come off. if it doesnt, hit the weights lol

Try putting the closed end of a wrench on it
then hammer the shit out of the wrench with 1
clean shot. I use that technique a lot but

i wouldnt use a closed end wrench, most of them are 12 point so its easier to strip the bolt head. use a 6 point socket with a long ratchet, hold the socket on there good and hammer or kick the end of the ratchet. also try tapping the bolthead lightly and respraying with pb

Yea on a bolt that tight using a 12 pointer is asking for problems. I would just soak it in deep creep or pb blaster. And then get a 6 point socket and breaker bar and try it. If that doesnt work use a cheater bar on the breaker bar just make sure u dont come off the bolt and then ur on straight and are pushing straight down.

its been 2 weeks and I've tried everyday and the sockets just rip right off the bolts. I think I'm gonna have to heat them up, oh yea, and earlier today, my ABS failed when I was playing chicken with an SUV which I prolly shouldnt have been doing. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif but it feels so much better with no ABS system. then some old guy in a mercedes tried to chase me down. whoops, I'm not gonna do that again.

I invested in the Craftsman socket set that is designed for stripped bolts. I love this socket set.

I recommend getting a set.

am i able to remove the bolt that gets in the way while trying to remove the lower inner bolt? it comes down at an angle to the ground( soeey I dont know what it is). and does the stripped bolt set slip off rusted bolts? b/c I seem to have a grip and then suddenly, it slips right off it and it even feels like the bolt became to big...

My rear driver lower caliper bolt wouldnt budge either, remove the caliper from the mounting bracket and use a torch, mine finally broke loose.

Edit/\oops i meant remove the caliper bracket with the caliper still bolted to the bracket( remove the hose).

I cant get the lower bolt off that allows me to remove the caliper from the bracket either. that ones rusted on pretty badly as well
