Approximatley how much to replace a wheel bearing?

One of my mechanics says my left front wheel bearing is starting to go. You can also hear it when you swerve the car back and fourth. An early sign supposedly. Im just looking for a rough estimate of how much it might cost to repair.

I'll take it on $300 parts and labor, bring that rust bucket by the shop LOL

do it yourself for 50 bucks (cost of bearing) plus the cost of your favorite 6 pack.

Are wheel bearings hard to replace? Do you think if I had a Hayne's manual by my side I would be able to do it on my own?

As long as you have a press and adapters they are not hard at all.
Of course not hard meaning having right tools for the job.

do you have a good assortment of tools? You can definately do this without a press or adapters as mentioned above but you need some tools (big prybar, metal mallet, and axle socket, and various sockets for the brakes and hub bolts.

Suppose you could but even a table vise makes these sooooo much easier.

I replaced lower ball joints at the same time as my wheel bearings since I had the hub out.
I also had access to honda tools so that makes life way easier.

Otherwise if you know someone at a shop that will help. I would say to pay someone it would be easy 40.00 per bearing to install. I may be wrong though.
