Im trying to figure out if the quotes that we got are fair or not , that is for

I got the following quotes

Tony1 is the man for cages and chutes. You should see mine, its a work of art.

Re: Roll Cage & Parachute Prices (SpeedDreamz.com)

i have an existing 6 point in the car. And Franks Custom Fiberglass is adding on to it and doing a 12 point cage to front framerails and a front subframe along with a parachute mount for 1400 in chromoly. Not including price of parachute.

Re: Roll Cage & Parachute Prices (Turbo Wax)

Those prices sound fair if it's good quality work. I've seen some bad cages!

that sounds about right for top notch work.
its not a cheap deal, but fair price for quality components.

check out mazworkz. not sure what city they are in, but i believe they are in FL.

Thats a reasonalbe price....We charge about that for a CAD designed CNC bent cage. Don't think there are many people using the equipment we have.

No one can touch our prices on Stroud Products, we are one of the largest dealers in the country, Jegs, Summit, Bickel, Quarter Max etc can't come close. Just any FYI trying to save you guys money!!! https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

what is the benefit of this software you speak of?

We can design and tube within the bend radius of the, write a program to our bender and have a tube that is bent to exacting spec 1 tenth of a degree. The repeatablitly and qualtiy can;t be matched. We build a lot of chassis cars and this is an amazing tool for build the straightest chassis with the tighest tolerances. We have computerized measuring systems on our rack and well has laser scopes to plot level planes on the work surface.

Re: Roll Cage & Parachute Prices (vaporboy12)

We can set you up with a Moly chute mount kit too, if you like. It ships 100% tig welded only requires welding to the chassis. In which case I feel it can be done by almost anyone just as long as the welds are complete. We can give you some direction over the phone i.e walk you through it!

Super Comp Chute $229
Super Gas Chute $256
Comp Eliminator Chute $270

**I am going to offer free shipping on any stroud products if you mention honda-tech at the time of purchase** Anywhere in the continental USA https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

S&W.Chassis Engineering and Chris Alston all use the same program for their chassis when you buy a chassis kit from them. I think you can even buy the program for PRO-TOOLS or MITTLER BRos if i'm not mistaken.

We actually use CAD (solid works) not bend-tech or mitlers software, and we do not use mitlers bender it's a much more advanced peice

well this is all nice and dandy info for chassis/kit cars, but what does it have to do with a 10pt cage and chute setup like the post originator asked about? you use all this high tech bending equipment and software to layout a 10pt cage?

also who makes this bender and can you post some pics?

Here's the bender Mazworx uses.

You can get more info on this bender at http://www.trick-tools.com

As much roll cage/chassis work we do, this thing helps out alot.

Cad isnt going to help you build a stronger chassis, its just used for technical drawings to help better communicate the designer to the builder.

It appears most fab guys dont use the proper way to design a chassis. probably due to cost or lack of an engineering background. IMO the most proper way to design a cage or any tube chassis is to use structural analysis and design software. Unfortunately, I dont know many people who do this, except for the professional racing industry. which i dunno why, there are lots of structural engineers around...

Re: Roll Cage & Parachute Prices (Mase)

I thank you all of you for your expertise ! we will now face the hard part of who to chose, delivery and location has a lot to do,

I been told from each company

Place 1 / 3 days, in and out all done

Place 2 / 5 working days

Place 3 / One week, I can only assume is 7 days

One is 2hrs away (with the trailer one way )

One is 3hrs

0ne is 4 hrs

Can I purchase all the steel, rent a pipe bending machine and do it all ourselfs ?
