Sun Visor Vanity Lights Quit Working..What could it be??
We have a 2001 Accord sedan EX 4 cyl. Bought the car new. Noticed a couple of weeks ago that the lights in the vanity mirros no longer work when you open the covers. I have checked all fuses under the hood and on both the passenger side and driver side. They are all good. It's not a huge deal, but I'd just like to know what's wrong. Anyone have any ideas??
Not sure if the digital clock in the dash is illuminated or not but noticed it is not lit up at night so you can't even see it. Maybe that's normal but just thought it might have something to do with the vanity lights not working. Any help appeciated. |

You have to have the parking lights on for the vanity mirror lights to work. Your clock bulb burned out.

LOL...Yep I figured that out after I posted this stupid question. Flipped the lights on and the vanity lights work fine. DUH!
So the digital clock in the center of the dash DOES have a light?? Anyone know how to replace the bulb?? |

Remove the clock, change bulb. On my 02, the clock comes right out, and I think it will be the same on yours. I was changing that bulb on an oddysey, and I had to take the dash apart to get to the clock.

Yea the accord clock just pops right out of the vents with a small flathead screwdriver. then use the same screwdriver to remove the small bulb from the clock. It's a cake walk.
good luck and glad you figured the first part out |

Well, I went out to the car, put the "bad" bulb things back in and turned on the headlights. Presto! The vanity mirror lights turned on. Thank you so much for resolving my problem...for free! |

Re: Sun Visor Vanity Lights Quit Working..What could it be??
I have a 2000 Accord EX-R and the passenger side vanity lights worked no problem but the driver's side did not. So I thought it was an issue with just the driver's side visor/vanity. So the next day I went to troubleshoot and the driver's side started working when I flipped the mirror cover up, but I noticed that if I moved it slightly the lights would go out. So when I flipped the cover as open as it would go, the lights stayed on. So today I went and replaced all 4 bulbs with LEDs and after a couple tests of flipping up the driver's side mirror cover, the lights stopped working on BOTH visors. I replaced the LEDs with the originals (all were working before), and not both vanity lights on the driver and passenger side do not work. What could be the problem?
